Terms and Conditions of Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy

Dogs will not be treated without the prior consent of a veterinary surgeon. Please ensure that the ‘Vet Referral Form’ is completed and sent to us prior to the commencement of your dog’s first hydrotherapy session. Alternatively, please bring the completed form with you at your first session.

Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy reserve the right to refuse treatment of any dog, if they feel the welfare of the dog cannot be met. Or the condition has changed, or a new condition has arisen since receiving the Vet Referral Form.

Owners are required to notify the hydrotherapist with immediate effect during the course of treatment if they believe the dog’s injury or condition worsens.

Owners must notify Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy during the course of a treatment plan if the dog’s veterinary surgeon advises that treatment should be stopped or suspended.

All treatment, including sessions that are part of an insurance claim must be paid for on the day of the treatment.

Do not feed your dog for at least two hours prior to the hydrotherapy session.

Dogs should not be fed for at least two hours after the hydrotherapy session.

Please keep all dogs on a short lead whilst entering the premises.

Please ensure that your dog has toileted prior to entering the pool and ideally emptied its bowels. Pool contamination will result in an additional charge of £60.00 and Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy reserves the right to close the pool and terminate the session so the additional cleaning can be undertaken.

If a session is cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, the full rate of the session will be charged.

Whilst every care is taken of the dog undergoing treatment, the maintenance of the water, and equipment, all dogs receive hydrotherapy entirely at their owner’s risk.

Dogs vaccination records must be up to date, and Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy requires proof of the current vaccination certificate or proof of an up to date titre test.

It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that dogs are brought in for their treatment as clean as possible. Dogs will be required to be showered before entering the pool to ensure that as much loose hair and dirt are removed as possible.

We are unable to treat bitches in season.

Dogs with infectious or contagious conditions such as ear, eye or skin infections, and not limited to conditions such as gastric upset and kennel cough are not to be brought on the premises. Owners are advised to cancel all appointments within 24 hours’ notice until the condition is clear. Normal cancellation conditions apply. Veterinary approval may be sought.

All visitors are required to wear sensible shoes on the premises and take care whilst manoeuvring around the site. The pool room can become wet underfoot, and whilst all care is taken to ensure the flooring stays dry, it is not always possible.

Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or damage to any person or animal whilst on company premises.

Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property or vehicles whilst on the premises.

We reserve the right to cancel any appointments at short notice after an incident such pool contamination, a power cut or other health and safety reasons. This is purely for health and safety reasons. In this circumstance, Winchester Canine Hydrotherapy will issue a full refund for the session if we are at fault. Or organise the session to be rescheduled.

Please note that our centre is not an ideal environment for young children. Swimming pools can be dangerous places and we are unable to watch children. All children must be accompanied by adults at all times.
